October Classes

I hope you'll find something interesting in our last classes for the season.  The crown jewel offering is the AUSTERE MEDICINE class taught by Dutch Verschoor.  The other classes will help you save time in the kitchen, identify healing herbs and make a salve for first aid.

Homesteading  Class:    Tuesday, October 19  10:30am     KITCHEN MIXES

The  class and recipes are FREE, but the Make-N-Take-home of kitchen mix is $5.  You can take the class without taking any mix home or you can take as many mixes home as you like at $5 each.

We will be making CREAM SAUCE mix which can be made into various sauces such as Alfredo, Cheese and Gravy.

ALL PURPOSE MASTER BAKING  mix for doughnuts, biscuits, pizza crust, coffee cake, etc.

The mixes can be stored in canning jars or mylar bags, your choice.  PLEASE RSVP so there will be enough materials for everyone.

AUSTERE MEDICINE  Oct 28, 29 and 30.    A three-day hands-on camping extravaganza on learning to save lives in primitive conditionsAustere Medicine is sometimes called Wilderness Medicine.  It is a practice of medicine in resource-constrained environments - which includes the wilderness, developing countries or after disasters. Medicine practiced in austere environments has become increasingly popular and we are so fortunate to have a bona-fide instructor.

Among other life-saving techniques, you will be suturing!!   Not for the faint of heart.  Taught by Dutch Verschoor, a former Green Beret doctor who's been there and done that in third world countries.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn skills you may need if there are no medical facilities or personnel to help you.

This is a free class but you will be given the opportunity to share in the expenses via a free-will offering jar!
