HERB CLASS: Maiden-Mother-MENOPAUSE III

The third and final class in the woman's series MENOPAUSE.   Hot flashes?  Night sweats?  Miserable?  There are herbs that can help alleviate symptoms and make your life so much better.

Plus, the last two categories of herbs:  Stimulating/Sedating and Potentially Toxic.  Herbs should be respected and used with knowledge.  The powerful constituents can help or harm depending upon how they are used.  How much should you take?  How long should you take it?

We will also discuss SOY --the good, the bad and the ugly and hormone balancing herbs.

And, last but not least a very quick and simplified tutorial on making tinctures, glycerites and salves.  There is much more to learn about these processes, but this will get you started.

July 24, 2021  Maiden, Mother, MENOPAUSE III  $20    10:30 am  Rocky Creek Valley Farm   37009 W 156th St Rayville, MO

Maiden-Mother-Menopause Wait....What?

The herb class series Maiden, Mother, Menopause is one of the best series I do.  It's all about WOMEN in all stages of their lives.  In answer to some inquiries and misunderstandings about the classes I decided to write this word of explanation and enlightenment.

Although each class will cover things in all the female stages, each class will primarily focus on one of the maiden, mother or menopausal stages.

For instance, the first class MMM I (MAIDEN June 26) will have some good herbal practices for girls approaching and in puberty and young women who have not yet borne a baby.  We'll cover topics regulating the menstrual cycles such as flow, cramps, skin and mood.  We'll also discuss the importance of iron and calcium and recommendations on how to get them and how much you need. However, there are things about herbs that are good for ALL stages because herbs are far-reaching and often all-encompassing!!  It will cover the first two categories of herbs mentioned below: Nourishing and tonifying herbs.  The Make 'N Take for this class is an herbal remedy that helps you get your required calcium/minerals - THE OLD SOUR PUSS MINERAL MIX.   $5 extra.

MMM II (MOTHER July 10) focuses on MAKING BABIES!!!  One of my favs!!!   This is a great class not only for future mothers, expectant mothers and new mothers but those who love and care for them.   Topics include fertility, tonics, common pregnancy ailments, labor and after the birth. Again, there is information that will cover all three women's stages. The Make' N Take for this class is a nourishing, toning, powerful infusion made with three nutrient rich herbs.  $5 extra.

MMM III (MENOPAUSE July 24) will focus on...well...the menopausal stage!  We will cover topics that include menstrual flow, night/cold sweats, hot flashes,  pros/cons of soy, emotional balance, anxiety, hormone balancing, calcium issues and pain.  And, again, the class has information on herbs that span all three stages. You will get recipes and short instructions on how to make remedies.  Also, we will discuss the second two categories of herbs mentioned below: sedating/stimulating and poisonous/toxic.  The Make 'N Take is a wondrous hormone-balancing infusion - $5 extra.

Two classes (MMM I and MMM III) explain the four general categories of herbs, how they work in the body, the strength of the dosage and the amount of time you can take it.  MMM I (June 26) will cover the first two and MMM III (July 24) will cover #3 and #4.

  1.  NOURISHING HERB                MMM I
  2. TONIFYING HERBS                  MMM I
  3. SEDATING AND STIMULATING HERBS           MMM III
  4. POTENTIALLY POISONOUS/TOXIC HERBS     MMM III

Don't let that #4 trouble you.  That category is one of the best.  These herbs are VERY POTENT and demand respect and knowledge on their use.  You wouldn't just take pharmaceuticals willy-nilly, so we  should offer herbs the same courtesy.

Make 'N Takes are optional herbal "treats" that you make in class to take home and are not covered in the class cost.  Most Make 'N Takes are $5 extra and can be paid in class.
